New to Press-On Nails? Start Here If this is your first time ordering custom press-on nails, don’t worry! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know before placing your order. Custom press-ons are made specifically for you, so providing accurate sizing and clear design information is extremely important. Step 1: Choose Your Nail Set Start by choosing the set you would like to order. Depending on the listing, you may be able to select things such as: Nail shape Nail length Design complexity Colors Charms or embellishments Matching toes Other available add-ons If you are new to ordering press-ons, I strongly recommend purchasing my Sizing + Design Planning Kit before placing a custom order. Step 2: Use the Sizing + Design Planning Kit My Sizing + Design Planning Kit was created to make ordering custom press-on nails easier, especially for first-time customers. It walks you through the information needed to plan your custom set and helps you keep everything organized in one place. Depending on your order, the kit includes helpful pages for: Fingernail sizing Nail measurements Nail length preferences Custom set planning Design details Color choices Charms and embellishments Inspiration and notes Toe measurements for matching press-on toes You only need to complete the pages that apply to your order. Step 3: Measure Your Nails Carefully Correct sizing is one of the most important parts of ordering custom press-on nails. Use the sizing instructions included in the Sizing + Design Planning Kit and carefully measure each natural nail. Take your time and double-check your measurements before submitting them. Sizing is the customer’s responsibility. Your custom nails will be made according to the measurements and sizing information you provide. I am not responsible for nails that do not fit due to incorrect measurements, incorrect sizing, or sizing information submitted by the customer. If you are unsure about your measurements, I strongly recommend measuring again before placing your order. Step 4: Choose Your Length If you are new to press-ons, terms like short, medium, or long may not always give you a clear idea of how the nails will look or feel. The Nail Length Preference Sheet included in the planning kit lets you choose approximately how far you would like your nails to extend past your fingertip. Lengths are measured in millimeters so you can choose a length that better fits your comfort level and lifestyle. Step 5: Plan Your Design Use the Set Planner included in the kit to show me what you would like your custom nails to look like. You can include: Colors French tips Glitter Chrome Patterns Hand-painted designs Rhinestones Charms Accent nails Different designs for individual fingers Themes Inspiration photos Additional notes You do not need to know exactly what you want. If you have a general theme, color palette, aesthetic, or a few inspiration pictures, you can include those and give me creative freedom with the remaining details. Step 6: Submit Your Information Before your custom set can be created, please submit all required sizing and design information. This may include: Nail measurements Nail sizes Nail shape Length preference Completed set planner Color selections Inspiration photos Add-on selections Any special instructions Please review everything carefully before submitting. Your set will be created based on the information you provide. Step 7: Your Nails Are Handmade Once I have all of the information needed for your order, I can begin creating your custom set. Every nail is individually handmade, so slight variations may occur in: Linework Color placement Glitter placement Rhinestone placement Charm positioning Hand-painted details These small differences are completely normal and are part of receiving a handmade product. Popular Questions I’ve never ordered press-on nails before. Can I still order? Absolutely! You do not need previous experience with press-on nails to order. If this is your first custom set, I strongly recommend purchasing the Sizing + Design Planning Kit first so you can properly measure your nails, choose your preferred length, and plan your design. What is the Sizing + Design Planning Kit? It is a digital download created to help you plan your custom press-on nail order. It includes guides and planning sheets for sizing, nail length, designs, colors, and other customization information. It is especially helpful for customers who have never ordered custom press-ons before. Do I have to purchase the Sizing + Design Planning Kit? It is strongly recommended, especially for new customers or anyone who is unsure how to measure or plan a custom press-on set. The kit gives you a much easier way to organize all of the information needed for your order and helps reduce mistakes. Do you offer physical sizing kits? No. Physical sizing kits are not currently available. Sizing is completed using the measuring instructions provided with the Sizing + Design Planning Kit. Is sizing my responsibility? Yes. Customers are responsible for measuring their nails carefully and submitting the correct sizing information. Your custom nails will be made according to the measurements and sizes you provide. Incorrect customer-submitted sizing does not qualify for a free remake, replacement, or automatic full refund. Please double-check all measurements before submitting your order. How do I measure my nails? Follow the measuring instructions included in the Sizing + Design Planning Kit. Measure each nail individually and record your measurements carefully. Do not assume both hands are identical, as nail sizes can vary slightly from finger to finger. Should I measure more than once? Yes! I strongly recommend measuring each nail at least twice before submitting your sizing. If your measurements are different each time, measure again until you feel confident in the result. What if I’m between sizes? Follow the sizing guidance provided in your kit. When possible, it is usually safer to choose a slightly larger option rather than one that is too small, since a slightly larger press-on may be gently filed for a better fit. What if I submit the wrong size? Contact me as soon as possible. If I have not started making your set yet, I may be able to update your sizing information. If your nails have already been made according to the sizes you submitted, a remake may require an additional purchase. Can I return a set because it doesn’t fit? Because custom press-on nails are made according to the sizing information submitted by the customer, incorrect customer-provided sizing does not automatically qualify for a return, refund, or free replacement. Please review the full Return & Refund Policy before ordering. Why do you recommend the planning kit so strongly? Custom nails require more information than a regular ready-to-ship product. The planning kit helps make sure you have thought about: Your sizes Your preferred length Your nail shape Your design Your colors Your individual nail details Any charms or embellishments Any additional requests It also gives me a clearer reference to use while creating your order. Do I have to fill out every page? No. Only complete the pages and sections that apply to your order. For example, you do not need to complete the toe measuring section unless you are ordering matching press-on toes. What if I don’t know what nail length I want? Use the Nail Length Preference Sheet included in your kit. Instead of relying only on terms such as short, medium, or long, you can choose approximately how many millimeters you want your nails to extend past your fingertip. What if I don’t know what design I want? That’s okay! You can provide: A color palette A theme An aesthetic Inspiration photos A few specific nail ideas and give me creative freedom with the rest. Can I send inspiration photos? Yes! Inspiration pictures are encouraged and can help me understand your desired: Colors Theme Nail art style French tip style Charm placement Overall aesthetic Reference photos are used as inspiration and do not guarantee an exact copy of another artist’s work. Can every nail have a different design? Yes. You can use the Set Planner to specify what you would like on each individual nail. Keep in mind that highly detailed sets may require a higher design complexity option. Can I request specific charms? Yes, depending on availability. If you want a particular charm or decoration, include it in your planning information. Certain specialty items may require an additional charge. Can I order matching press-on toes? Yes, when the matching toe option is available. Complete the Toe Measuring Sheet included with your planning kit to provide the sizing information for your toe set. Toe sizing is separate from fingernail sizing. When will you start making my nails? Custom sets can only be started once all required information has been received. Missing sizing, measurements, design details, colors, or other required information may delay your order. Can I change my design after submitting my planner? Contact me as soon as possible. If your set has not been started, changes may be possible. Once production has begun, certain changes may not be possible or may require an additional charge. Are handmade nails completely identical to the reference picture? No. Every nail is individually handmade, so small differences in linework, placement, blending, charms, glitter, or other details may occur. Inspiration photos are references rather than guarantees of an exact replica. How long do press-on nails stay on? Wear time depends on: Nail preparation Application method Your natural nails Your daily activities Water exposure Whether you use nail glue or adhesive tabs Proper preparation can significantly improve wear time. Should I use nail glue or adhesive tabs? Nail glue is best for a stronger hold and longer wear. Adhesive tabs are best for shorter wear, special occasions, easier removal, and customers who want to reuse their sets. Can I reuse my press-on nails? Yes! With careful removal and cleaning, many handmade press-on nail sets can be reused. I’m completely new to press-ons. Where should I start? Start with the Sizing + Design Planning Kit. It was created specifically to make the custom ordering process easier to understand and will walk you through sizing, length, and planning your set before you place your order. And remember: always double-check your sizing before submitting it. Sizing is ultimately the customer’s responsibility. 💜
